Session 7

The team after reappearing in the basement, search around and find some valuables hidden in the redbrands sleeping quarters.

They progress to the next room past the trapped hallway and find a room containing three sarcophagi, each with a skeleton sitting beside it. As they approach the first sacragaphous to open it, the skeleton stands up and summons his friends to attack the grave robbers. The party being no strangers to skeletons take them down quickly and efficiently. Finally robbing searching the coffins find decaying remains and a platinum signet ring on each body.

Snowball explores a door to the north of the room and finds another doorway leading to an armory he takes a crossbow, and Gnarvick takes a spear and they move on to another room that Barlumin sneaks into, surprising two redbrand guards that were prepared for intruders, but not prepared enough, Barlumin makes two quick attacks on one of the guards with his shortsword and Snowball puts them to sleep, preferring elevator music as a weapon over sharp steel. They find three captives in the cage, two children who wont speak, and their mother Mirna, who tells them the location of a valuable family heirloom in exchange for her, and her children's freedom.

While the party release the captives, Pallas casts detect magic, and finds that the crypt room was used for a powerful magic ceremony and that parts of the bodies in the coffins were used for performing the ritual, it seems apparent that this was where lord Tressendar was able to use dark magic to complete his ritual and achieve immortality.

He also detects that in the pile of rags in the jail room a wand is hidden amongst the clothes, he is unable to identify this but takes it for later inspection.

Barlumin hands Droop a sock from the pile but as this is not harry potter Droop looks at him with utter confusion.

Mirna shows the party a couple of secret doors and they make their way back to town. They discover that Yeemik has escaped his bounds and is no longer in the cart where they left him. They return to the Miners exchange where Halia is surprised they have made it out alive. They told here of the battle and that there were no survivors except for Mirna and her children, Halia asks for proof that they defeated Glassstaff and Barlumin rummages around in the bag of holding and finds the correct head, Halia isn't convinced until Snowball produces the glass staff at which point she pays them the agreed 100Gp bounty and a 50Gp for releasing Mirna. She asks them what was going on down there and coughs up an additional 50Gp for more details about the redbrand operation. Halia is also very skeptical of the party's encounter with Lord Tresendar at his mansion and thinks maybe the crew encountered some special mushrooms or something.

They head back to the Stonehill Inn where they rest up and eat. Selmak makes the mistake of eating the fish and predictably takes ill. Barlumin uses his ranger skills to mark the front of the inn with a warning to not eat the fish. Pallas takes time out to identify the wand he found, and works out that it is a Wand of Fireballs.

The party head to the Shrine of luck where they talk with Sister Garaele, she tells the story of her attempts to get some information from Agatha, a banshee who lives on the Triboar trail a few miles out of town. Agatha has information about a spell book belonging to a powerful mage named Bowgentle, Garaele is trying to track down the last known whereabouts of the book. When Garaele sought out Agatha, she would not appear for her, so she came home empty handed. She gives the party a silver comb which she believes combined with some flattery would be enough to get the information out of Agatha.

The party head to the Triboar trail and find Agatha's dwelling. On entering her shelter they find a small house made from trees with elven furniture, a ghostly apparition appears and speaks with them, immediately taking a dislike to Barlumin. Gnarvick was able to sweet talk Agatha with some very kind words about her beauty and convinced her to give them the information they needed in exchange for the comb. Agatha was so smitten with Gnarvick she also told him the location of Cragmaw castle and Wave Echo Cave before staring longingly at Gnarvick and disappearing.

The crew returned to Gareale with the information and she compensated them with three potions of healing. Checking in on Selmak they find him feeling much better and ready to kill some more things.

Now knowing the location of Cragmaw castle them team decided to head there and take on the Goblin king. Arriving at the crumbling castle the party manage to almost make it to the front door but Jamorin and Selmak get noticed. Two goblins shoot arrows from small arrow slot windows on the second floor at them with one hitting Pallas, the rest of the party make it through the door unscathed. Locating a door leading to the location of the goblins, the party take up positions while snowball using stealth opens the door and casts sleep, managing to take down three goblins, and make two more weary before making his escape. Selmak rages his way into the room and with one swipe of his great axe splits a goblin into 4 pieces, Barlumin follows and skewers the head of another to the wall with his longbow, and Pallas reduces one to a smoldering heap with a firebolt. The remaining goblins are shaken, seeing that all of their friends where just decimated in less than 18 seconds.

Gnarvick jumps over bodies and tables to take down the last remaining goblin in the room, while snowball notices more down a hallway/path through the rubble to the west, casting sleep again he manages to make two of them have a nap, and makes two more sleepy, elevator music FTW.

Selmak takes the head of one of the fallen goblins and adds it to his collection. The party takes a minute to compose themselves, and are ready for the next challenge.
