Session 5 - Get them while they sleep

After Laytons warning he watched in amazement as the party all disappear in the other direction, then lives a sigh of relief as he sees them take up positions on the ridge. One of the goblins is knocked out, and the other sounds a horn to alert some more. 

The Goblins come into view, and Kurash polymorphs into a dire wolf and the rest of the party stare in amazement as he does this. They fight their way through 4 more goblins using crossbows, firebolts etc 

A boss goblin appears and Nogok yells at him in Goblin that he has come to face his death, Nogok uses a killing blow on a goblin as an exclamation point and the boss roars at him in anger.

The party rise up to the challenge and fill the boss and his guard with bolts, fire, teeth and blows from Nogoks war-hammer, until he joins the rest of his group. 

Inspecting where the goblins came from they spot their cart drawn by two polar bears. As Kurash turns back into Gensai form he calmly approaches the bears and is able to free them, seeing scars and blood in their fur where they had been mistreated by the Goblins, as the bears are released they immediately feed on the corpses of the goblins. Etch binds the sleeping one, and wakes him, allowing him to see the carnage of the bears feasting on his dead friends. 

Nogok asks why are you out here, who sent you. The goblin explains in a terrified shaking voice that they were following Izobai (the boss) while he searched for resources to see them through the endless winter. 

Nogok decides to let the Goblin run for his life, and as he runs he does not get far before he is spotted by the polar bears, who run him down and end him fast. 

Kurash befriends and calms the bears and has them agree to drag the sled back to Bryn Shander, he sets up camp outside of town and the party drag the sled with the iron ingots the rest of the way. 

They arrive back at black iron blades where Hruna had heard of their arrival and is waiting for them there. Hruna inspects the cart and pulls out a small bag with 7 blood stones in it, he tosses this to Nogok, and says "Aye looks like ye lost one, but payment is there for im also"
