Session 44 - Behind the eyes

Seeing how exciting Baromar and Grimdur's gifts have been Gnarvick decides to try his luck as well. Touching the Amber he hears the following "I am Shami-Amourae, the Lady of Delights, I offer you my gift" He accepts and is given the ability to cast the suggestion spell three times. As well as receiving an extra finger on each hand, he also gains the trait/flaw "I can’t get enough pleasure. I desire others to create beauty for me at all times."

The rest of the party decide to hold off any further gifts to finish exploring the temple to see if there is a guide or legend on what the gifts will be before accepting them.

They start with the south doors in the main chamber and collectively the strongest of the party push them open, springing a trap that hits them all with 22 necrotic damage.  The inside contains remains of many people encased in amber, as the party enters the candles inside illuminate.  They take the opportunity to take a short rest to recover some of the hip points lost in recent combat, Baromar stands guard atop a pillar and sees some movement behind the eyes of the statue. 

Finding nothing of interest they move on, back to the upper levels where Baromar uses his new found wings to explore the landings on the far side of the giant hall. He opens a door and sees another Amber Golem, he flies to the lower level as it pursues him. 

The party decide for most of them anyway, to stay behind the arrow slits and use ranged attacks on this Golem. Baromar attacks using his ranged spells and attracts more attention from the Golem who jumps down of the landing making an epic three point super hero landing. Grimdur comes down and starts to attack the golem using the first of his Cone of Cold. While this has a reasonable impact on the Golem, it's not enough to stop it slam attacking Baromar into unconsciousness. 

While Snowball heals Baromar, the combined  Cone of Cold spell,  Pallas' Fireballs,  Mulberrys moonbeam, Gnarvicks acid orbs and Denzel's Eldrich Blasts eventually take it down.
