Session 40 - The Amber Temple

The party are reunited with Mulberry out the front of the Amber temple, she starts explaining about her Driud cookbook, moving her possessions etc, but the party see through all of that and determine that she ate some special mushrooms and was out for a few days. 

Looking at the temple they see a series of Amber statues and a flight of stairs leading down into the darkness. Looking at the statues too closely fills the party with a disconcerting feeling. Throwing a stone at them has no effect.

They decide to send snowy owl down the stairs to explore, they notice the arrow slits on either side of the stairs, snowy owl reveals a huge cavern with a very large statue of a wizard mid spell casting at one end. As she circles the room Snowy Owl is gripped by some unseen force and dragged into yet another arrow slit before being crushed to death.

The party look around the room on high alert, Gnarvick discovers what looks like a well that appears to have access to a sub level, they decide to try and take care of whatever killed snowy owl, and head to the east side of the cavern, opening a door with the utmost care Baromar sees several Berserkers, a Gladiator and a direwolf in a room. Snowball casts confusion and they fight their way through much of the party.

Grimdur takes quite a bit of damage and while he is fighting Mulberry reaches a boney stick like finger and touches him on the ear to heal him, this causes him to wildly slash at her with the sun sword, but she manages to dodge out of the way, 

Gnarvick breaks out his acid balls and melts the face off one of the Berserkers. And after an apologetic glance Mulberry this time is able to heal Grimdur without the element of surprise.
