Mulberry spends some time getting to know her new wolf companion, the wolf is named Short of tooth as she had the smallest fangs in her litter, Mulberry changes it slightly to little tooth.
The party take the shaken children to the Burgomaster in Krezk, along the way they hear a carriage pulled by a huge black horse, this pulls up next to them and the door opens, a hand in black clothing and smelling of death, reaches down from the darkness within and hands Mulberry this invite:
The Party discuss attending the dinner party, and the artifact they recovered from the Wolves on the way back to Krezk. Pallas after identifying it determines the following about the holy symbol
- Amulate that can be worn
- Has magical abilities
need cleric or paladin
- need good alignment
Pallas also removes the curse on Kellen, Wencensia slips away into Krezk unnoticed as they are talking with Dmitri. Dimitri asks that they deliver 5 of the kids to Urwin at Blue water inn, Urwin and he have an arrangement for Orphans, and Krezk simply cannot afford another 9 mouths to feed.
The party head to Vallaki and deliver the children determining that Urwin will use them as cheap labor around the Inn makes the party feel a little uncomfortable, but they accept that and go to visit Ismark at Blinkski.
They are welcomed by the toymaker, who is happy to share what he knows about the box that Ernst came in and demanded he build for Fiona. He implies that this wasn't a request and made the box out of fear for his safety and the safe keeping of Ireena. He tells the party that the box's dimensions are 4ft x 2ft x 2ft, he was told to leave blank panels on each side for the engraving of runes, and aside from that the box was somewhat boring to build.
The party ask to see Ismark and Blinkski aligns himself with a special spot in the store and taps on the ground with his food three times, about a minute later Ismark appears from a trap door in the corner of the store.
The party ask Ismark about Sergei von Zarovich and his remains, Ismark tells them of a rumor that his remains are no longer in crypt in Ravenloft, Strahd fears Sergi as if he is ever raised from the dead he would have significant reason to come after Strahd.
Blinkski tells the party of the night of Sergei and Tatyanas wedding and how it ended with all the guests being killed, Strahd killing Sergei and Tatyana jumping from Castle Ravenloft into the Ravine below.
The Party while in Vallaki decide to seek out some health potions which sees them arrive at St Andrels Church, where Father Lucian tells them that they have 6 potions available, and are unable to make more as the Church is no longer protected by the bones of St.Andrel that used to be in the basement. They are spending their days trying to magically protect the Church again from Strahd as this was a sanctuary for all peoples of Vallaki.
Father Lucian suspects a local man named Milivo he is an angry simple man who carries a shovel everywhere, and is often seen around town.
The party buy the potions and tell Father Lucian they will see what they can do about recovering the bones.
The decide to head just out of town and collect little tooth who wasn't really welcome inside the walls, and Snowballs casts invisibility on her so she can join the party on their recon of the Watcherhaus.
They arrive and start scoping things out, there is little activity around the house, only seeing a man walking past a window as he appears to be pacing around a room nervously. After a while they party are spotted by the man who comes out the front door and introduces himself as Ernst confronting them about what they are doing there. And why was Mulberry standing in the middle of the vegetable garden.
Mulberry casts charm person on him and he responds by taking another look at her, and seeing her as a friend he invites them in for refreshments.
The party enter the house and are taken to the room they could see Ernst pacing from the outside. There is a fire burning and, the room smells kind of damp and musky.
Baromar asks for refreshments, and Ernst apologizes for being a bad host as he heads to the kitchen to get something organized. Baromar offers to assist, and while Ernst is getting cheese and crackers, Baromar scopes out the kitchen and storage room, finding three wine kegs, he tips poison wine into the only one that is not empty.
Ernst enters the store room and fills a pitcher, placing it on a tray and asking Baromar to carry it. He brings the Cheese and crackers and they head back to the group.
Mulberry asks for a large glass and Baromar pours her one but accidentally knocks it on the floor. Baromar asks Ernst for Ale for Grimdur and Ernst heads out of the room to get some. Baromar tells the rest of the party not to drink the wine and they tip it out into the fireplace. Ernst returns with a full glass of his own which he is quickly guzzling and a mug of ale.
Ernst is clearly (to the party) poisoned and doubles over, vomits on floor, excuses himself and finds his way to a bed, he can be heard retching and does not appear to be responding all that well to the wine.
The party search the house, and don't find any people, upstairs they find the body of Fiona's husband, and as Mulberry opens a door she sees a library for a split second before little tooth fills her mind with this image:
Mulberry realizes there are large number of cats inside as the invisible wolf screams inside tearing apart 4 cats, the other 4 escape past MB and down the stairs past snowball.
They spread out two hide in the room where Ernst is slowly dying and two in a closet.
Ernst lies there while two cats scream over him, followed by heavy invisible feet that bounce off his crippled body, he watched as an invisible force tears the cats apart, and sees a blood stained maw floating in the air, as it runs from the room.
In the small space the other cats are hiding as the wolf takes care of them, it uncovers a secret door leading to the basement.
The party head down, and find a root cellar with foot prints in the dirt, leading to the stairs they are on, and the staircase outside, but also to a blank wall.
As they fill in and start to search the earth is disrupted as several skeletons dig their way out and into the room.
