Session 17 - Relaxing with a glass of wine.

Arriving at the village the team find a massive wall. there are some guards looking down at them who ask them what the want.

The party explain they seek safe harbor for their companion, and the guard sends for the Burgomaster. he arrives and is willing to make a deal, he asks the party what they are willing to do for him, and they work out the town has been without wine for some time as a delivery is late.
He asks them to prove they are not allies of Strahd and has his wizard cast a zone of truth on them for questioning. Avoiding the Charms of Strahd even Grimdur is able to answer with a cagey skirting of the truth to gain his trust.

They pass and agree to seek out the wine. They are allowed to spend the night in the guard house, and have yet another quite restless night as they listen to the guards run from melee to melee throughout the night. In the morning the leave for the winery which is not too far away. They hit a fork in the road and decide to head to the vineyard.

There in the mist they spot a cloaked figure who beckons them over. He introduces himself as the winemaster, and explains that druids and blights have taken over the winery. When they ask if there is still wine for the town they are reassured by another cloaked figure who appears from the mist that there is indeed still wine ready to ship out.

With that the party head to the winery and encounter a great number of twig blights who they are able to make short work of, they are then greeted by a collection of scarecrows who succumb to a fireball. They then encounter Baba Lysaga, a powerful servant of Strahd who kicks the parties butts all over the place, and manages to knock snowball unconscious and damage several of the others with a lightning bolt.

They manage to take her down and notice something strange about one of the trees in the corner of the yard, while snowball is chugging healing potions and everyone is getting touched by the healers they notice the tree has moved.

The massive tree is actually a blight and the party manage to make their way to the "Safety" of the winery barricading the door.

Inside they notice that there is a flock of ravens overhead, and Baromar decides to drink some of the wine immediatly falling victim to the poison they shortly after notice is being poured in by the druid on the second level of the building.
