Session 31 - Oh what a night....

Snowball explores the tunnels and steps on a hidden trap in the floor falling through a false stone and landing on spikes, he sustains quite a few injuries. As Snowball drags himself out of the pit, Baromar asks around to see who has the bag of Salt for Snowballs wound? instead the party decide to take a long rest relying on Snowball to cast a tiny hut for protection and the party split into two person watch shifts.

During the third watch Pallas and Mulberry heard a low growling grunting shuffling sound from down one of the hallways. Pallas immediately uses Thaumaturgy to create a loud thunderclap to wake people up.

Pallas and Mulberry attack while the rest of the party takes up arms, Grimdur take the first one down, Baromar and snowball head int he opposite direction to try and flank the Ghouls, revealing another Ghoul wandering in their direction, Denzel takes this one cutting off both arms, both legs and then disemboweling it, he keeps a section of intestine.

Mulberry runs into the room beyond where Denzel had just eviscerated a ghoul. And comes face to face with a Grick, a snake like fiend with a huge beak and 4 tentacles coming out of its face. 

Grimdur runs into the room and sees Mulberry with the Grick, Baromar with a Ghoul and another Ghoul hiding in a small alcove off the room, assessing where is he is most needed he heads to the lonely Ghoul in the alcove and makes short work of him. 

Baromar faces off against one alone and delivers a series of intense blows to it, finishing with a knife hand strike to the side of its head taking the rotting top of its skull off. 

Looking around the cultists eating area they see a lot of human remains including a Hand sandwich and the remains of a foot long sandwich.

To avoid any further traps, Snowball sends Snowy owl to explore the remaining hallways and rooms,  finding two semi contained ghouls in some kind of master bedroom the group are able to identify them as Elizabeth and Gustav Durst they are partially buried in wall cavities inside what looks to have been their bedrooms.

As the Party take a moment to reflect on 2020 and what a year its been they drink to playing DnD with friends using the polish drink cheer Naz Droh Vee Ay - To Health

As the party attack the enclosed ghouls the room quickly gets crowded, as more ghouls appear in the hallways Denzel tries to flank them using a closed door that they have mapped out to go to a connecting room, however as he touches door handle the door opens a huge mouth full of teeth and attacks him - a large purple tentacle shoots out of the mouth and attaches itself to Denzels chest while it bites him.

The party finish off the ghouls, and try to help Denzel with the monstrous door that is trying to eat him, Denzel is knocked out his last words "Is this door made out of broom?" Snowball heals him casting aside the dig about the broom from last session almost taking him down. The party focus their attacks on the Mimic, and once healed Denzel resumes his attacks and aims for the doors groin.....noting this sounds like Grimdur. This is enough to take the mimic down and the party take a moment to breathe. 

Once they have collected themselves and regrouped they return the Dursts remains to the crypt hoping it has an effect on their entrapment in the house, however nothing happens.
